In 2020, the Spanish government ordered a national lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I had just moved to the region of Catalonia and, like the rest of the country, I was living in partial isolation. To break the monotony of indoor life, I bought myself a pochade box to paint outdoors. What a happy moment it was to roll it in my dram to the nearby park and paint the surrounding vegetation.
This painting was done in Can Cases Park, Martorell. I enjoyed picking out the different shades in the trees. A passerby commented that her mother had grown up in the house depicted in the upper left corner.
