A flow of rhythm, of events. An interaction of form and colour. The lack of subject is deliberate, (To A) Cadence is the realisation of cause. The tantalising but non-existent word ‘phraseiognomy’ was the working title.
If I could put the knowing of painting into words, words would be enough and the painting would be an irrelevance. Painted half in wash and half impasto, in equal measures the one, luminous, the other, opaque.
